The Maryland SoccerPlex opened in 2000, in Germantown, Maryland. There are 19 natural grass fields, 3 turf fields and 8 indoor courts, along with a miniature golf course, driving range, archery range and swim center.The main stadium holds 5,200 and was home to the Washington Freedom, formerly of the WUSA and WPS. The Freedom were founded in 2001 based in Germantown before moving to Florida in 2011 as the magicJack.
We just returned from our second Potomac Memorial Day Tournament held at the SoccerPlex, this is an amazing complex. A major achievement for soccer in America.
