Help Colorado Now

Commerce City, Colo. - The Colorado Rapids’ special, game-worn jerseys from the match on July 4th, which featured the Colorado state flag and HelpColoradoNow.org across the chest, are being auctioned off with proceeds benefitting organizations supporting disaster relief. The auction will run from July 20 to August 5, 2012, with proceeds going to HelpColoradoNow.org.


The auction ends August 15...

The jerseys worn by the 18 players on the roster that day - and autographed by the player - are included in the auction, with the first bid starting at $100 and with $10 incremental bids offered.

2012 - Vitoria Brazil

Esporte Clube Vitoria is a Brazilian football team playing in the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie B. Founded in 1899, the team has been known as the Rubro-negro (Red and Black). The team jersey has  consisted of vertical or horizontal red and black stripes, since the team changed from white and black to the current red and black in 1901.

As seen on Uni-Watch July 7 - Vitoria is again wearing a white and black striped jersey. The white stripes will be changed to red as the team's fans donate blood. The more blood donations received, the faster the white stripes get converted back to red. An excellent promotional program involving the fan base with the team while working for a great cause!

2012 MLS All-Star Game jersey

Adidas and Major League Soccer announced that the 2012 All-Star Game jersey will feature the AT&T  micoach professional soccer team tracking system. The system, built into the jersey, will allow the coaches with real time performance, including on-field player position, power output, speed, distance covered, GPS heat mapping, etc...

Adidas had previously introduced a system that was inserted a micoach speed-cell that can be inserted into a players shoes to record a variety of data. these innovations are expected to assist the coach on evaluating a players impact on the game...

The Minnesota Stars FC, of the NASL, announced their away jersey will feature numbers that have photos of their supporters' group. Each number uses a different crowd scene from the team's playoff run in 2011, as Minnesota celebrated the best fans in the NASL...

It's not American soccer, but it had to be seen to be believed. Olmpique Lyonnais of the French Ligue 1, has introduced a 3-D design from Adidas, which was worn on April 28 for the first time during their French Cup final. So break out those 3-D red and blue glasses to watch Olympique Lyonnais...

Moving to the Philadelphia Union Ruiz had the opportunity to meet Carlos Ruiz who plays for the Philadelphia Phillies baseball team. In the tradition of soccer both Carlos' exchanged jerseys.

As early as 1931 soccer players were exchanging jersey after memorable games as a memento of their participation. The exchange also seen as a show of respect and sportsmanship for the opposing players.
