Kids, ask a grown up to help you cut the cards out of the box!

2016 MLS - Topps Now

At the start of the 2016 baseball season, Topps produced it's Now series, which featured a card produced for an event that happened that day. Each card was priced at $9.99 and would only be available for purchase until the next afternoon.  Each card would have a print run that was dictated by the number of cards purchased.

Topps followed this series with cards for the AMC television series Preacher.

NOW! Topps has produced it's first MLS Now card celebrating Fabian Castillo for his goal scored on July 16, with a print run of 132 cards.  additional cards followed for Diego Valeri (#2 - 88 cards printed), Jack Harrison (#3 - 100 cards printed), MLS All-Star game (#4 - 90 cards, #5 - 81 cards, #6 - 84 cards)

1999 - Kristine Lilly - Adidas promo card

reverse of the 5x7 card features a grey-tone photo with biographical information. In the lower left hand corner it shows 2 white square with the wording "1999 US Women's World Cup Team, place this card 2nd in the position shown"..

Looks like there might be at least 6 cards issued by Adidas, but I have not seen any others with this design...

Zealot is a member of the team WildC.A.T.S. created by Jim Lee and Brandon Choi

Chicharito - Mexican National Team

I was never a big fan of the Chrome variant Topps trading cards, but I picked up a retail box at the local store because it was there and I had to take a look. The standard set offers 10 cards per pack, the chrome cards offer 4 cards per pack. The chrome base set contains 95 cards, while the standrad set contains 200 base cards.  The set includes autographs, color and refractor variants, mini cards, Mexican Nationals (not sure why the Mexican team is highlighted, but I like them and I pulled a Chicharito card so I can't complain).  One-Two insert card (looks like it should be a relic card but is not, so which I don't understand its purpose)...

2012 Franz Bread - Timbers and Sounders

Franz Bread, which has provided trading cards in their packaging for the Mariners, Seahawks and Trailblazers, also included the Portland Timbers and Seattle Sounders. I love the regional issues over Topps or Upper Deck, they have a connection to the team...

I have only come across a few of these cards, running from $3-5.00 on ebay.

Cards I am aware of include:
Portland - Darlington Nagbe, Kris Boyd, Troy Perkins, Diego Chara, Jack Jewsbury, Jake gleeson, Brent Richards, Franck Songo'o, Eric Brunner, Kalif Alhassan, Eric Alexander, John Spencer

Seattle - David Estrada, Mauro Morales, David Gspurning, Steve Zakuani, Freddy Montero, Osvaldo Alonzo, Jhon Kennedy Hurtado, Eddie Johnson, Brad Evans, Alvaro Fernandez,

2013 Topps Archives - Pele

2013 Topps Archives Baseball (1975 throwback)
Pele autographed card
Odds: 1:41,000 packs

Came across information about this card while researching the new Topps MLS cards.
In one chat room there was a question of how come Pele gets put in a baseball set, but not the soccer set. I agree I would love to see the older NASL players autographs inserted into the MLS set.

However Topps' primary sets are baseball, and the 2013 Archive set not only includes Pele, but include heavy metal rock stars like Sebastian Bach, tommy Lee, Lita Ford and Dee Snider; actors Jack Palance, Ava Gardner as well as the usual baseball players. The set utilizes all throwback designs another popular trend from Topps

2013 Topps Major League Soccer

Topps has put out a set of MLS trading cards for the 2013 season. I picked up several packs and pulled the following cards.....
Ramiro Corrales

Miami Fusion - 1998
Metrostars - 1998-2000
San Jose Earthquakes - 2001-2004, 2008-
Hamarkameratene - Norwway 2005-2006
SK Brann - Norway 2007
US National team - 1996-2008

The autograph card, chrome background, with the Topps certified autograph sticker added.
Numbered 24/50.

Federico Higuain base card and purple back variant (numbered 52/99).
200 base cards in the set plus short prints and variations - Purple numbered to 99, blue numbered to 50, gold numbered to 25 and black numbered to 10

Rivalries insert - Chicago v Kansas City

This Is Soccer insert (TIS-#)
This card features Red Bulls' Fabian Espindola #9, hard to tell from the photo. The back of the card provides insight on Espindola - attacks the channels of the field for the full 90 minutes.....

Kyle Beckerman front and back- 1978 throwback
1978 Topps English design featuring players of the MLS.
I like the throwback design, typical of recent Topps products...
